You need to march one army to the territory where the unit is stationed and merge them into the new army. It's like a military road trip!

You can't just teleport units; move the armies close and then transfer. It's Total War, not Total Convenience.

Grab the unit in question, move it to the edge of the territory, then transfer it to the other army when they're close enough. Easy peasy!

You just have to move the armies near each other and transfer the units. Done this a bunch, and it works like a charm!
