To grab another creature in Creatures of Sonaria, you need to play as a creature that has the grab ability. Once you're using a creature that can grab, simply target the other creature and press the grab button (usually it's 'G' on the keyboard).
Just use a creature with grab and press 'G' near your target. Easy peasy!
In my experience, the key is using a species with the grab ability and pressing 'G' when close to your target. Works like a charm!
