I had to do this last week: press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, unplug it for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in and restart. Worked like a charm!

Easy peasy! Hold the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it turns off, then unplug the power cable for a few minutes. Plug it back in, turn it on, and voila!
