How to Hide Friends List on Facebook

You can hide your friends list by navigating to your profile, clicking the Friends tab, and then the pencil icon. Select 'Edit Privacy' and change 'Who can see your friends list?' to 'Only Me.'
Honestly, you don't need to hide your friends list unless you're hiding from the FBI. But if you must, follow the steps in the other answers.
