Easy peasy! Just go to Settings > Audio and crank up the 'Master' and 'SFX' volume sliders to max. Don't forget to check your device volume too!

Headphones make a HUGE difference. Try plugging in a good pair, and you'll hear all the footsteps and gunshots much better.
