How to Keep Terraria Running in the Background?
Alt+Enter is your friend! Switch Terraria to windowed mode and you can easily switch between tasks without pausing the game. Been doing this for ages and it works like a charm.

Just don't. Keeping games running in the background can eat up your system's resources, especially if you're doing something resource-intensive on the same PC. Terraria's not that intense, but why risk the lag or crashes?
To keep Terraria running in the background, try running it in windowed mode instead of full screen. This way, you can alt-tab out of the game, and it should continue running. Also, check your settings in-game and on your PC to make sure they don't automatically pause or suspend apps when they're not in focus. Some games have an option to keep running while in the background, so it's worth digging through the settings!
Honestly, just minimize the game window and it should keep running. If it pauses, you might have a setting enabled somewhere that's stopping it. Check both in-game and your system settings.
