Press F3 to open the debug menu (and then F8 to free your cursor). There's an option there that will give you infection data!

Just hop into one of those alien terminals and they'll tell you your infection level. Easy peasy!

Honestly, just get to the alien bases. They'll scan you and let you know. Saved my fins more than once.
