Open Facebook app, hit the three horizontal lines, go to 'Settings & Privacy', then 'Settings', 'Security and Login', and click on 'Log out' next to Messenger. Voila!
To logout from Facebook Messenger, you gotta go to the Facebook app, select 'Settings & Privacy', then 'Settings', find 'Security and Login', and finally select 'Log out' next to the Messenger session. Easy peasy!
True story: I once struggled to log out of Messenger, but the trick is through the Facebook app, under 'Security and Login'. Problem solved!
