To replicate the unique texture of Pokemon cards, you can start by using high-quality, thick cardstock as your base. Next, experiment with different types of finishes - gloss, matte, or even a specific type of varnish that adds that collectible feel. Some crafters use a clear embossing powder on inkjet-printed designs then heat it to create a raised, textured surface. Always remember, the key is in the details, so look closely at an actual card to really nail that authentic texture!

Hot take: Just enjoy the cards as they are, folks. Making replicas seems like a lot of effort for something you can just collect. ?

I tried making my own Pokemon cards for a cosplay, and I found that using a light spray of glossy clear coat over the printed design before applying a thin layer of resin gave it a pretty convincing texture. It's not perfect, but it looked great for photos!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
