You don't actually 'mine' metal cubes in Subnautica. Instead, find Metal Salvage and transform it into Titanium using the Fabricator. Happy hunting!

I've spent a lot of time on the cloudy waters of Subnautica. Best way to get metal cubes is by collecting Metal Salvage. Use your Seaglide to get around faster and your Fabricator to turn it into Titanium.
