Pausing in Terraria on PC is kinda tricky since the game doesn't pause the traditional way when you hit ESC. Instead, pressing ESC brings up your inventory and the game still runs in the background. For a real pause, you need to open your inventory and then open the settings menu by clicking the settings gear icon. This effectively pauses the game, but it only works in single-player!

Just hit ESC and open the settings menu. Boom, game paused. Works every time, but only if you're flying solo in single-player mode.

You can't truly pause in multiplayer mode, just a heads up. Only the trick with the settings menu in single-player does the job.

Honestly, the best way to 'pause' in Terraria is to just make sure you're in a safe spot. Since it's always running in the background, there's no true pause in multiplayer. So, find a cozy corner or build yourself a little dirt hut to hide in!

If you're a Terraria player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
