How to place blocks in the background in Terraria
Oh, it's pretty simple actually! To place blocks in the background in Terraria, you’ll need to craft or find some Wall blocks first. These are different from the regular blocks you use to build your structures. Once you have your Wall blocks, select them in your inventory, then right-click (or use the corresponding action button on your console or mobile device) on the area where you want to place them. Voila, you have yourself a background!

Just use Wall blocks, not the regular ones. Different thing.
Just a heads up, you can't just slap those background blocks anywhere. You gotta start from the edge of an existing wall or the world border. So if you're trying to fill in the middle of nowhere, it’s a no-go unless you build a connection to it first.
Actually, priority number one is making sure you’re using Wall blocks for the background. Regular blocks are for the foreground where you walk and place furniture. Got some Wall blocks? Place them by aiming at your target spot and right-clicking. Easy!
