To play Hot Wheels Unleashed cross-platform, make sure both players have their game updated to the latest version. Then, one of you should create a lobby and enable the 'Cross-Platform' option. The other can join using the lobby code. Remember, both need an active internet connection. Race on!

Just toggle the cross-platform option in settings. Easy peasy.

Honestly, the cross-platform play isn't as smooth as you'd hope. My buddy on Xbox keeps getting disconnected when I invite him from my PS4. But when it works, it's pretty cool racing against friends on different consoles.
