I tried it, and it's pretty much impossible to play Super Mario Galaxy 2 without a Nunchuck. Just get one, it's not too expensive!

Unfortunately, you need a Nunchuck to play Super Mario Galaxy 2. Trust me, it's worth it - the game is a blast!
