Make sure you have a flat area with enough space, then just snap it onto your base! Also, try to leave the open side facing a deeper section of water for easy docking.
Honestly, just slap it on where it fits. You'll figure out the best spot after a few tries.
Pro tip: I always place mine near my main base entrance and ensure there's enough room for my Seamoth to slide in easily.
Find a relatively flat spot with plenty of depth beneath it and snap it to your base. Ta-da, easy docking!
