Easy peasy! Just go to Build Mode, click the car, and then click the 'Trash' icon. Don't worry, it doesn't get deleted, it goes straight into your inventory!

You need to go into Build Mode, select your car, and click the 'Trash' icon. It moves the car to your inventory, not the actual trash bin!

From personal experience: Enter Build Mode, select your car, click on the garbage can icon, and voil脿, it's in your inventory!
