I've done this myself a few times. Simply navigate to your profile, click on the profile photo, choose 'Update Profile Picture,' and select 'Remove.' Easy peasy.
Head over to your profile, click on the profile pic, then hit 'Options' and finally 'Remove.' Takes like 5 seconds!
