Ugh, had to do this last week. Go to their profile, click on the three dots, and select 'Block.' They'll be gone in a jiff.
You just need to go to your profile, click on 'Friends,' then 'Followers,' find the person you want to remove, and select 'Remove Follower.'
Go to their profile, select the three dots, and click 'Block.' Easy peasy.
