To restart Super Smash Bros Brawl, you can just reset your console and hold down the 2 button on the Wii remote at the title screen. This will reset all the data.

I’ve restarted my Super Smash Bros Brawl by just going to the Wii settings, selecting Data Management, and deleting my save file. Works like a charm!
