Allies get back up after combat if they go down during a fight, so focus on winning the battle and they'll be fine!

From my experience, stick to using healing items on them during fights. They can't be revived otherwise.

Nope, you can't revive them manually. Just make sure you have the right perks and they get auto-revived after combat.
