First, you need to mine copper ore from the copper deposit. Then, use a smelter to turn the ore into copper ingots. Voila!

From my experience, make sure you鈥檝e unlocked the smelter in your crafting menu. Collect copper ore, toss it in the smelter, and wait for those shiny copper bars!
