Golden Pokemon cards are super rare, so if you think you've snagged one, check a few things to make sure it's legit. First, real cards have a consistent and high-quality feel. If it feels too thin or flimsy, red flag! Second, the coloring and details should be crisp; no blurring. Authentic cards have a unique texture, especially the golden ones, so if it’s smooth, be wary. Also, compare it with images from reputable sources online. Lastly, the holographic pattern on a real card is hard to replicate, so if it looks off, you might have a faker.

Honestly, just weigh it. Real cards have a certain heft to them. Fakes usually feel lighter.

Check the edges. Real golden Pokemon cards have this neat gold edging that's super hard for fakers to get right. If the edges look sloppy or the gold looks painted on, it's probably a fake.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
