Simple: if it looks like it's sparkling more than your future, it's probably shiny.

Shiny Pokémon cards have a special sparkle or holographic finish that regular cards don’t. Look for a shimmering effect across the card's artwork, especially when you tilt it in the light. Most shinies will also have a distinct symbol or color difference in the card name or number to denote their rarity. And don't forget, the thrill is in the shine!

Actually, not all shiny cards scream 'I'm shiny!' Some are more subtle, like having a metallic sheen only on the Pokémon itself rather than the whole card. So, it pays to pay attention to the little details!

All shiny cards? They've got this vibe. Like, they kinda glow when you put 'em under a lamp. If your card doesn't light up your life when you do that, it's probably not shiny.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
