Look for 'ç' and 'ão' in Portuguese. Spanish won't have those! Also, Portuguese tends to be more 'shush-y' sounding.

Check the signs and billboards! Portuguese uses 'qu' a lot, like 'queijo' (cheese), while Spanish leans on 'll' and 'ñ' more.

Here's a quick hack: Portugal uses a lot of tiles (azulejos) in their buildings. Spain loves their red-tiled roofs. Happy guessing!

Listen up: Portuguese has a nasal tone similar to French, while Spanish is more staccato and straightforward.

Real talk: Spanish and Portuguese can be super tricky to distinguish at first. Practice makes perfect!

If you're a GeoGuessr player looking for extra credit or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in GeoGuessr essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
