How to tell what edition your Pokemon cards are

I've been collecting Pokemon cards since I was a kid, and trust me, figuring out the edition is key for collectors. Besides the symbols, first editions tend to have a thicker print quality. So, if it feels high quality and has that '1' symbol, you've got something special. I found a first edition Charizard once and almost lost my mind!

Hot take: honestly, just enjoy your cards. Unless you're planning to sell, the edition doesn't really matter. Gotta love 'em all, right?

Checking the edition of your Pokemon cards is pretty straightforward! Look for a symbol located at the bottom right corner of the card. If it's a first edition, you'll see a little circle with a '1' inside it, right next to the card number. No symbol usually means it's an unlimited edition. Also, for some sets, a little 'E' or 'U' symbol might indicate a promotional or unlimited edition. Keep an eye out for those subtle differences!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
