Use a multimeter to measure the voltage output of the power supply. Look for 12V on the yellow wire and 5V on the red wire.
Plug it into a known working outlet and check for the light on the power brick. If it's green, you're good!
Swap your power supply with a friend's (if they have the same model). If their power supply works on your console, you know yours is faulty.
