Turning dirt into grass in Terraria is pretty straightforward! All you need is some patience. Grass will naturally spread over dirt blocks when they are adjacent to existing grass blocks. So, simply ensure that the dirt blocks you want to turn into grass are touching or near existing grass. It might take some in-game time, but you'll see that greenery spread. If you're feeling a bit impatient, you can also use the Staff of Regrowth or plant Grass Seeds directly on the dirt blocks.
