Just buy a vehicle that can be upgraded at Benny's. Once you own one, Benny's unlocks. No need to sweat the small stuff!

Honestly, everyone makes it sound more complicated than it is. Just play through the game, and it'll unlock naturally. Keep your eye on the prize (and the missions).
