To unlock characters in Super Smash Bros Melee, you usually have to complete certain tasks like playing a certain number of matches or accomplishing specific in-game goals. Luigi, for instance, shows up after you finish Adventure Mode with a 2 in the seconds column of your total time. Keep brawling and you'll meet them all!

If you're ready for some hard work, Mewtwo unlocks after you either play 20 hours of multiplayer or 700 versus matches. Happy smashing!

Melee's got some weird requirements for unlocking characters – like Jigglypuff, you just need to beat Classic or Adventure mode once. Simple as that!
