Honestly, just try to focus on one goal for your BitLife character and see what happens. Ribbons are basically milestones that reflect specific paths or actions taken in life. Get creative and experiment!
I've unlocked a bunch of ribbons by just focusing on different strategies each playthrough. One time I went for max happiness, another time I maxed out wealth. Variety is the spice of (virtual) life!
