First, you gotta take down the second boss, The Elder. Once you do that, you'll get the Swamp Key. Use that key to explore the Sunken Crypts in the Swamp biome. Inside, you'll find 'Iron' which unlocks the Stonecutter at your Workbench!

Defeating The Elder is the way to start. Then use the Swamp Key to get Iron from the Crypts. That's basically the ticket to stone crafting.

You need iron to make the stonecutter. Find some iron in the crypts, and you should be good to go!
