Trevor's grand entrance happens after you've played a bit. Specifically, complete the 'Friends Reunited' mission. After that, 'Mr. Philips' will kick off, and boom, welcome to the Trevor show.

Unlocking Trevor in GTA 5 is like waiting for the best part of a movie. You need to complete the 'Mr. Philips' mission which comes right after the 'Friends Reunited' mission. Basically, play through the story, and Trevor will show up as part of the natural progression. He's the third character you get to play as, and trust me, the wait is totally worth it!
