It's all automatic if you have your console set to update games and apps in standby mode. Go to Settings > System > Updates and check 'Keep my games & apps up to date'. Done!

Easy peasy! Just make sure your Xbox is connected to the internet. Go to 'My games & apps', select 'Manage', then 'Updates'. If the game needs updating, it'll show up there!
