Upgrading your stone axe in Valheim is pretty straightforward. Head over to your workbench and make sure it's upgraded. Gather the necessary resources (wood and stone), then use the upgrade option in the workbench menu. Easy peasy!
You can't. Just skip the stone axe and go for the next tier.
From my experience, you'll need a level 2 workbench. Upgrade it using some extra wood and stone, then you can upgrade your stone axe. Simple as that!
