The trick is to complete the Son Quest from Robotmega on the Second Sea. Find Robotmega near Middle Town, finish the quest, and voila – upgraded Dark Blade.

To upgrade the Dark Blade, you'll need to complete the 'Son Quest' from Robotmega. Find him on the Second Sea near Middle Town. Finish the quest and your Dark Blade will be upgraded to Dark Blade V2. Ta-da!
