Personally, I like to craft my own bait using carrots and worms. Got tons of fish this way! Equip your bait, cast into the water, and wait. The fish love it!
Just grab a rod, add bait from the inventory, and go fishing. Wait for the bobber to dip and then click to reel in. Boom, fish caught!
