You can only use a Demon Heart if you're playing in Expert or Master mode. Just open your inventory, click on the Demon Heart, and then click outside the inventory window to use it. Presto, one more slot for your accessories!

Demon hearts? Can't use 'em in normal mode. Gotta be Expert or Master. It's like, why bother if you're just chillin' in normal, right?
