To use the windmill in Valheim, you need to place it near your farm. Load barley into the input slot, and the windmill will grind it into barley flour automatically. Just make sure the wind is blowing!

Place your windmill somewhere open so it catches the wind. Drop barley in the hopper, collect flour from the output chest. Easy peasy!

Windmills work best when placed at higher elevations. In my experience, the hillier, the better for wind flow. Barley in, flour out.
