Unfortunately, Black Ops 3 (BO3) isn't backwards compatible on Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S. You'll need the specific version for the newer console.

Just so you know, BO3 isn't available for backwards compatibility. You gotta get the version made for Xbox One or Series X/S.

I tried popping my old BO3 disc into my Xbox One, but it didn't work. So yeah, it's not backwards compatible.

Nope, BO3 for the Xbox 360 can't be played on the Xbox One or Series X/S, only the Xbox One version works.
