Nah, GTA San Andreas isn't based on a real story but it's got some real vibes for sure. The game's set in a fictional state that's kinda like a mash-up of Nevada and California during the early '90s. While the characters and storyline are all made up, they do a killer job of reflecting the era's gang culture, the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry, and other real-world events. So, while you aren't reliving actual history, you're getting a taste of what life was like in a dramatized, exaggerated form.

GTA San Andreas definitely takes inspiration from real-life events and the cultural atmosphere of the 1990s, especially in relation to the hip hop scene and gang conflicts. However, the story itself, along with the characters and city of San Andreas, are entirely fictional. Think of it as a homage to that era rather than a history lesson.

If you're a Grand Theft Auto player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
