nope, GTA V isn't exactly 'cross-gen' in the way some are thinking. You can play it on both old and new consoles, sure, but there's no cross-play feature across different generations, if that's what you're asking.

Yep, GTA V is totally cross-gen! You can play it on both the older consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, AND the shiny new ones - PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. No need to leave your old console in the dust or rush to upgrade if you're not ready.

Can confirm! Got GTA V on my PS4 a while back and recently upgraded to a PS5. The game runs smoother and looks better, but it's still the same good ol' chaos. So, yep, it's cross-gen in terms of compatibility.

If you're a Grand Theft Auto player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
