Nah, One Piece: Heart of Gold isn't canon. It's a cool special that ties into the film One Piece Film: Gold, but it doesn't fit into the manga's storyline. Think of it as a fun side adventure that complements the main story without being a part of the core narrative.

Heart of Gold is canon? LOL, nope. It's a flashy run-up to a movie, not a chapter from the sacred texts of Oda.

Well, technically, One Piece: Heart of Gold isn't part of the manga's canon storyline. Eiichiro Oda didn't write it as part of the manga, but it does a great job of amplifying the excitement for One Piece Film: Gold. So, it's more like a prelude to the movie rather than a chapter in the manga.
