Sorry to burst your bubble, but Wario isn't in the N64 version of the game. Only Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi are playable in the DS version.

Nope, Wario isn't in the original Super Mario 64. You can only find him in the DS remake, Super Mario 64 DS!

As much as we'd love to see Wario in Super Mario 64, he only pops up in the DS remake. Original '96 players didn't get that Wario flair.
