Gold Pokemon cards are the unicorns of the TCG world. Expect to open a LOT of packs or get really lucky. The exact odds are a closely guarded secret, but they're slim. Like, winning-the-lottery slim.

Landing a gold Pokemon card is like finding a needle in a haystack鈥攊t's pretty rare but not impossible! Gold cards are considered ultra or secret rare, so your odds might be anywhere from 1 in several hundred packs to 1 in a thousand, depending on the set and distribution. Always remember, the thrill of the chase is half the fun in collecting!

Don't count on it happening. The chances are super low, and you're probably better off buying the card directly if you really want it.

From my own experience, after opening hundreds of packs, I finally pulled a gold card. It's tough, but oh-so rewarding when you finally get one.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
