From my experience, levels in TF2 act like a badge of honor. They show how invested you are in the game, but don't give any gameplay advantage.
Levels in TF2 are purely cosmetic. They give you a sense of progression, but they don’t impact gameplay in any way.
In Team Fortress 2, levels are mostly just a way to show off how long you've been playing and how many achievements you've got – they don't actually affect gameplay, so don't stress about them too much!
