In Pokemon TCG, when a Pokemon is burned, you put a burn marker on it. At the end of the owner's turn, the player flips a coin. If it's tails, the Pokemon takes 20 damage. But remember, the player can heal or remove the burn condition with certain cards or abilities, so it's not always a game-ender!

Basically, burn is annoying for the other player. Think of it as a ticking time bomb unless they find a way to defuse it with a potion or ability.
