Idle status happens when Discord detects that you're AFK (away from keyboard) for a while. It's basically the digital way of saying 'BRB!'
I've been marked as idle even when I'm at my desk! I think it kicks in if you鈥檙e not using Discord directly for about 5 minutes. Cool thing is, you can manually set yourself as Idle too if you wanna lurk in peace.
