When it says 'In the Launcher' next to your friend's name on Fortnite, it means they have the Epic Games Launcher open but aren't actively playing Fortnite.

It just means your friend is hanging out in the Epic Games Launcher but hasn't started Fortnite yet.

If you see 'In the Launcher,' they're online in the Epic Games Launcher, but not in the actual game. Get them in the game already!
