In Jujutsu Kaisen, a curse is what you get when negative human emotions like hatred and fear concentrate really hard and then decide to go 'boo!'. Basically, these are malevolent entities created from all the bad vibes humans give off. Sorcerers fight them using cursed energy, which is pretty much their way of saying, 'not today, bad vibes!'.

Curses in Jujutsu Kaisen are what happen when you leave your negative emotions to simmer on high heat for too long. They're bad news, and dealing with them is like trying to fight off a nightmare with karate. Imagine your worst thoughts turning into a monster, and you've got the idea.
