The 'Illustrator Pikachu' card holds the title for being remarkably expensive, not just among alt arts but in the whole Pokemon TCG universe. Due to its limited release and the legendary status among collectors, prices can sky-rocket to over $5 million at auctions. It's the holy grail for collectors!

Actually, if we're talking strictly about 'alt art' cards from more recent sets, the Umbreon VMAX from the Sword & Shield series has fetched some pretty high prices, easily going over $1000. It's the dark, moody aesthetic and the popularity of Umbreon that drives its price up.

No way, it's gotta be Pikachu, right? Anything Pikachu just turns to gold.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
